The panel will underscore the urgency of Black feminist theory in research and practice. An additional and related aim is centering Black girls’ and women’s experiences in urban education conversations. The dialogue is also an opportunity to remember Dr. Helen S. Faison whose 43-year educational career included experience as the first Black person and woman to serve as the Pittsburgh Public School superintendent. Light refreshments will be provided
