Milner was also quoted in an article for The Christian Science Monitor that discusses why keeping minority teachers in the classroom is important, as well as being mentioned in a Reading Eagle article for his lecture at Kutztown University's "Understanding Race and Poverty in Schools" program.

Research completed by Assistant Professor Lindsay Page and Research Associate for the Learning Research and Development Center Jennifer Iriti on Pittsburgh Promise, a program that gives grants to qualifying public school students to attend a Pennsylvania post-secondary school, was featured in the Pitt Chronicle. Page was also cited in a New York Times article on the steps that colleges and universities can take to help prospective students avoid summer melt, a phenomenon in higher education where students become overwhelmed with the transition from high school to college and typically defer their enrollment. In addition, she was quoted in an audio version of nprED on how changes in the FAFSA application process makes applying for college easier.

An interview between Assistant Professor Sharon Ross and Let's Move Pittsburgh, "Health in Motion: Meet Dr. Sharon Taverno Ross," was featured in a blog post on Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens's website.

Student Maximilian Schuster wrote a letter to the editor in The Chronicle of Higher Education suggesting that faculty need to run for elected office within the federal, state, and local governments.
