PhD students Adam Alvarez and Ira Murray had an article published in Young Children, NAEYC's peer-reviewed journal. The article is titled "Research to Practice: New Research on Helping Young Children Develop Positive Racial Identities.”

Visiting Assistant Professor Katrina Bartow Jacobs had an article published in Children's Literature in Education, titled "The (Untold) Drama of the Turning Page: The Role of Page Breaks in Understanding Picture Books.”

Center for Urban Education (CUE) Postdoctoral Research Fellow Roderick Carey published an article in The Urban Review titled "'Keep that in mind..You're Gonna go to College': Family Influence on the College Going Processes of Black and Latino High School Boys."

Co-Director of Teacher Education and MOSAIC Program Coordinator, Sheila Conway, co-authored an article for New Directions for Child and Adolescent Development titled, "Improving Professional Development to Enhance Reading Outcomes for Students in Special Education."

Assistant Professor Linda DeAngelo published an article in the American Educational Research Journal titled, "Social Mobility and Reproduction for Whom? College Readiness and First-Year Retention. DeAngelo also published an article in the American Educational Research Journal titled, "Social Mobility and Reproduction for Whom? College Readiness and First-Year Retention.” In addition, DeAngelo published a policy brief through the Council of Graduate Schools titled, "DATA Sources Plus: Supporting Students of Color on the Pathway to Graduate Education." The brief is a follow up to the talk she gave at the Council of Graduate Schools Spring 2016 Research & Policy Forum.

Associate Professor Carl Fertman published his book, Health Promotion Programs From Theory to Practice, second edition.

Associate Professor Amanda Godley, along with LLC PhD alumnus Adam Loretto and current LLC PhD student Sara DeMartino, published an article in Research in the Teaching of English titled "Secondary Students' Perceptions of Peer Review of Writing." The article is based on data from an IES-funded study of peer review of writing in high schools.

Associate Professor Louise Kaczmarek co-authored a paper published in the Review Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, with PhD alumna Lema Kabachi, entitled "Evaluating the Efficacy of Video-Based Instruction (VBI) on Improving Social Initiation Skills of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): A Review of Literature."

Assistant Professor Lindsay Page wrote a piece on changes that can be made to improve how students apply to college for the Harvard Business Review. Page also co-authored an article published in Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis titled "Parental Influences on Postsecondary Decision Making: Evidence From a Text Messaging Experiment."

PhD student Rebecca Price and Professor Mary Margaret Kerr published their study "Child's Play at War Memorials: Insights from a Social Media Debate" in the Journal of Heritage Tourism.

Assistant Professor Shannon Wanless and Associate Professor Patricia Crawford published an article in Young Children, NAEYC's peer-reviewed journal. The article is titled "Reading Your Way to a Culturally Responsive Classroom.”

Professor John Weidman co-authored an article with PhD alumni Darla Twale and Kathryn Bethea, published in the Western Journal of Black Studies, titled "Conceptualizing socialization of graduate students of color: Revisiting the Weidman-Twale-Stein framework.” Weidman also was co-author of a paper published in Studies in Higher Education, titled "Gender role conflict, professional role confidence, and intentional persistence in engineering students in China."
