Components of the course include the foundations of early childhood education; curriculum models and approaches; classroom management and scheduling; integrated instructional planning, including play; observation and other assessment approaches appropriate for use with very young children; and indoor and outdoor environmental design. One component of the course is a field experience in a pre-kindergarten setting.
