EFOP 3150 - FOUNDATIONS FOR THE STUDY OF HIGHER EDUCATION

This course is the foundational course on the study of higher education designed to introduce PhD students to the social, political, philosophical and historical contexts that undergird higher education in the United States. Issues, ideas, and current arguments are explored as they relate to the structures and system of higher education, functions and purpose of higher education, and outcomes of higher education. Governance, administration, faculty, curriculum, finances, and students are covered as they relate to the areas of the course.
