This seminar offers an in-depth exploration of contemporary theories and perspectives on gender and sexuality, focusing on their application to research and praxis aimed at cultivating inclusive and justice-oriented programs, policies, advising strategies, and environments in higher education. Adopting an intersectional critical lens, the course will investigate a range of pertinent topics, including Women of Color (WOC) feminisms, advanced gender and sexuality identity development for college students, the complexities surrounding LGBTQIA+ topics (Queer of Color Critique, Joteria Pedagogy, etc.), the experiences of trans* and gender non-binary individuals, the pervasive gender inequities that exist in higher education, as well as the intricate policy challenges related to gender and sexuality.
