How to Create Accessible Canvas Course Virtual Workshop
Workshop Description:
This virtual workshop will guide faculty and staff in using the UDOIT accessibility tool to identify and address accessibility issues within Canvas courses. Participants will learn practical strategies to ensure course content is inclusive and usable for all learners, including those with neurodiverse abilities and disabilities. The session will cover core accessibility principles and provide hands-on techniques for making Canvas pages, documents, and multimedia fully accessible.
Workshop Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Use the UDOIT tool to check for accessibility issues in a Canvas course.
2. Correct accessibility issues and ensure compliance with digital accessibility standards.
3. Apply best practices for creating accessible text, images, documents, and multimedia in Canvas.
4. Develop strategies to make digital accessibility a key component of your course design and update process.

She is an Assistive Technology Specialist and Educational Software Consultant for the Educational Software Consulting group with the Center for Teaching and Learning.
